SUMMARY: The Process Engineering Intern reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for supporting the Process Improvement Engineer with implementation of specific projects to improve current manufacturing processes. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Supports process engineering and operations with assignments and responsibilities required to support the overall manufacturing and lean floor processes
  • Interacts with several functional areas such as Manufacturing, Process Management, Quality and Warehouse and supports the implementation of new systems collaborating with team members
  • Collects and crafts process data, suggests changes and improves Lean Six Sigma (LSS) trainings
  • Assist with time studies, job shadow manufacturing processes, update visuals
  • Reviews progress continually through designed metrics, compiles data for metrics charts
  • Prepares and updates presentations as required

  • Currently enrolled engineering majors or someone who has completed their bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Must be available to work full-time during summer and 2 days a week during the school year
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent planning, organizing, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to exercise creativity and take initiative to work under pressure in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to deal with all levels of associates within the organization
  • Must possess strong computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Apps)
  • Knowledge of process simulation software Arena, Minitab or VBA are a plus
