Job Description

The Senior Industrial Engineer will monitor our current operations and determine more efficient processes. The primary aim of the role is to lead key process, design and improvement efforts, from definition through execution, and deliver positive results. This candidate will possess knowledge of best-in-class operations and provide coaching/training on how to continually improve the existing operations.


Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Manage and drive Configuration and Distribution center optimization projects: which includes involvement in the workflow design of new configuration area expansions, software technology, and optimizing current footprint and layouts
  • Review production information to understand methods and activities in operations and services. This includes, but is not limited to, production schedules, process flows and engineering specs
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts through defining standards, analyzing data, identifying opportunities for improvement, developing and implementing process improvements and technological upgrades
  • Responsible for building relationships and gaining knowledge of supporting departments across locations – purchasing, sales, transportation, distribution, configuration services
  • Manages development, implementation, and coordination of projects through scheduled reviews, financial analyses and design/status meetings, including development of cost justifications
  • Responsible for executing analytical evaluations of service delivery and operational activities using various systems, such as Configuration Center management, coworker planning, workforce management, telematics and routing applications
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for projects related to coworker utilization, equipment, and facility design, and coworker costs and productivity

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree Industrial Engineering or similar field of study

Required Experience

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Industrial Engineering or similar field of study
  • 5 years of experience working in Operations, Technology Services or related field

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in operations management, engineering, performance management, change management
  • Experience with lean warehousing principles, facility layout, and warehouse zoning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including facilitation and presentations
  • Capable of working independently with minimal oversight or guidance
  • Ability to manage competing priorities showing adaptability and meeting important deadlines
  • Proficiency with MS Office software including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Occasional travel is required in support of all Configuration Service Centers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in project management or process methods 
  • Experience with data and reporting tools (SQL, Pyramid, Access, Python)
  • Engineered Standards (Labor Management System) experience
  • Knowledge of simulation tools, SQL, CAD, VBA
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification or TPM a plus
  • Standard work kaizen leadership and application of LEAN/Toyota Production System for business results
  • MODAPTS certification
