Job Description


SYTE’s project engineers support the superintendent and project manager on assigned construction jobs. They assist with bid preparation, subcontractor management, project administration, and compliance requirements.


·Prepare project work breakdown structures, create resource-loaded schedules, provide schedule updates, and prepare contract performance reports.

·Develop, update, and monitor project schedules and cost estimates from project inception to completion.

·Review progress and productivity of projects (including subcontractors), support the project managers with cost and schedule variance analysis, forecast cost to complete.

·Assist with change order management and control.

·Prepare monthly project progress summary reports, including updated cost reports and schedules

·Attend progress meetings to review project status and prepare appropriate documentation and meeting minutes.

·Provide pricing support for the development of proposals for new contracts, ensure the correct application contract pricing requirements, correct application of Davis Bacon wages etc.

·Assist with entering proposal data into spreadsheets, check proposals for consistency between statement of work and proposal narrative and support the preparation of bid submissions.

·Assist the project managers to resolve payment of labor discrepancies.

·Manage and maintain project data and information using appropriate software; including the initial set up, modifications, and project close-out requirements.

·Prepare and distribute project reports to relevant internal and external stakeholders.

·Maintain company and project databases and knowledge management resources.

·Other duties assigned by Senior Management.

Experience Level

Entry-level (0-5 years)

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

Required Experience

·A minimum of 2 years of work experience in the Construction industry – Experience on commercial projects and construction for federal and state clients, a plus

·Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications

·Ability to perform take-offs and estimates

·Proficiency with project management tools – Familiarity with project accounting software packages, a plus (e.g., SAGE 100)

·Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the use of cloud-based applications

·Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in the working environment and priorities

·Experience developing/working within a team-oriented and collaborative environment

·Excellent time management, communication, problem solving, and analytical skills
