SYTE Corporation, is a minority and veteran owned company that provides construction and maintenance services to public and private sector clients (i.e., Civil Engineering Construction, Commercial Renovations, Heavy/Civil Construction, New Construction, and Utilities Infrastructure).

SYTE Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Manager who is passionate about a career in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Utilities Industries to join our team in Chicago, IL.

The Senior Project Manager will be an integral part of the Operations team, reporting directly to the General Manager. This position will be is responsible for coordinating all preconstruction and construction project management. This includes planning, executing, and completing projects in accordance with the contractually agreed timelines and budget. These responsibilities consist of building rapport with clients in a manner designed to maintain long term relationships, direct project meetings and serve as liaison between clients, architects, engineers, and sub-contractors, competitive general contractor and sub-contractor bidding, contract negotiations, project scheduling, cost analysis, subcontractor management, material procurement, and monitoring project quality, scope, time and cost.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Capable of conducting or assisting with pre-construction conferences, supervise and direct field staff that may include inspectors, resident engineers, and administrative personnel, and conduct site meetings dealing with Sub-Contractor work progress.
  • Capable of performing a broad cross-section of complex technical and administrative activities requiring extensive experience and specialization in Contract Compliance, Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) inspection of public works projects and related construction work
  • Able to negotiate and resolve Change Order Requests and Request for Quotes proposals on behalf of the Owner.
  • Communicate with all parties of the contract to keep them informed of clarifications and interpretations required for proper execution of the contract.
  • An understanding of the administrative, contractual, financial, and business aspects of construction operations is required.
  • Experience leading a team of construction support personnel consisting of Engineers, Inspectors and Safety staff.
  • Experience effectively communicating on a regular basis with Client leaders.

Education Required

Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering is desired - emphasis in roadway design engineering is desired

Required Experience

  • Master's degree in construction management is desired.
  • 10 + years of experience in the design/construction industry with an emphasis in varied range of transportation and related projects, and experience in managing or assisting a manager in a range of projects.
  • Certification as a registered Professional Engineer for the desired “State”, but not required.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) is desired
