The Senior Project Engineer specializes in the planning, organization, and development of engineering activities for the construction and maintenance of facilities, such as roads, railroads, bridges, and water systems. This individual is responsible for planning and conducting work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. This individual is also responsible for devising new approaches to problems and preparing or modifying drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitoring work for compliance to applicable codes, and accepted engineering practices. This may include structural, traffic, and geotechnical engineers to name a few.

· KNOWLEDGE: As an expert in the field, uses professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues and broad design matters.
· JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on issues that impact major projects or a section of engineers and designers.
· SUPERVISION: Exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments. May supervise engineer design and/or the activities of others.
· EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 15+ years of related experience. PE License required, and LEED certificate may be required.
