About HARTING Americas
HARTING Americas is the North American subsidiary of HARTING, a German-based global leader in the connector industry. We develop, manufacture and sell the world’s most durable and reliable electrical connectors and solutions for use in mechanical and plant engineering, broadcast and entertainment, factory automation, power generation and distribution as well as industrial electronics and telecommunication.
HARTING was established in 1945 in Espelkamp, Germany, by Wilhelm Harting. His goal was simple: manufacture useful technical products for the industry emerging in Germany. In 1965, we invented the rectangular connector after recognizing the need for an alternative to circular Mil Spec connectors. Since then, the HARTING Han® connector has becoming the standard for industrial connectivity worldwide.
In 1986, HARTING decided to cross the Atlantic and opened HARTING Americas right in the U.S. heartland, less than 50 miles outside of Chicago. HARTING Americas continued to expand, opening sales and manufacturing facilities in Canada, Mexico and Brazil.
Today, we predominantly focus on the three lifelines of industry - power, signal and data - through a wide portfolio of industrial connectors, board level connectors and components for industrial Ethernet. However, in keeping with Wilhelm Harting's original goal, we continue to develop new technologies to support the needs of today's markets far beyond connectors. Today, we are leading in Industry 4.0/IIoT with the development of the HARTING MICA®, the industrial edge gateway that brings Industry 4.0 capabilities to existing machines and devices.
